Elizabeth Helps Tell Stories

I use Catch to automate savings through event-based settings. I withhold taxes, time off (recovering workaholic, here), retirement savings, and now health expenses.

We sat down with Elizabeth to talk about her experience as a freelancer and how she uses Catch. She's been a user for more than a year, and she also writes blog pieces for us about health insurance, retirement, and tax withholding.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I'm a Nashville-based freelance writer helping startups and innovation labs build relationships and expertise through content. I've been freelancing for 3 years full-time.

How did you get to where you are today?

I taught ESL in HigherEd in three different countries for 13 years before becoming a full-time writer. I have an MA in Applied Linguistics and am a mom of two in Music City.

What do you love about what you do?

I love getting to work with people doing cutting edge, creative things in the world of tech, education, art, and finance (among many other fields). I've always wanted to be my own boss and tell stories for a living. Now, I get to do both.

How does Catch fit in with your life?

I use Catch to automate savings through event-based settings. I withhold taxes, time off (recovering workaholic, here), retirement savings, and now health expenses. Eventually, as Catch rolls out new features, I'll manage my entire self-made benefits package through the platform.

Without Catch, I'd still be doing what I was doing before - the mental gymnastics of trying to remember to manually withdraw savings for retirement and emergencies, hiding tax savings in other accounts, and managing what seems like a million savings and checking accounts.
